Maximizing High Performance: How You Start Your Day Matters

Do you know what determines how your day will unfold? It’s not the coffee (or if you’re like me – the strong lemon-tea), although that helps! It’s not the weather, although that can impact your mood. It’s how you start your day.

As someone who’s learned to prioritize their morning routine, I can attest that it’s the secret sauce to gaining control over your day. My mom taught us the importance of starting with prayer, a habit that’s been passed down through generations in my family. There is definitely a noticeable difference in my day whether I start it in prayer or skip it for later. It’s not just about prayer, though – it’s about setting a positive tone, building confidence, and cultivating resilience, which is what prayer ultimately does for me.

_Your Morning Routine is Your Superpower_ Whether it’s meditation, journaling, listening to your favorite songs on the way to work or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, your morning routine can be the difference between a day that runs smoothly and one that runs over you. It’s about creating a sense of calm, clarity, and purpose that will carry you through life’s ups and downs. So, I encourage you to make a conscious choice about how you start your day. Will you let the day run you, or will you take the helm and steer your ship towards your goals? The choice is yours.

Takeaway:

– Identify your non-negotiable morning routine that sets you up for success.

– Prioritize self-care, reflection, and goal-setting to create a positive tone for the day. To-do lists also come in handy!

– Cultivate resilience by focusing on what you can control, rather than getting bogged down by uncertainty. By taking control of your morning routine, you’ll be better equipped to handle whatever the day throws your way.

So, take a deep breath, say a prayer, grab your mug (or Stanley cup as that seems to be the in thing lately) while two stepping to your favorite jams and start your day with intention and purpose!
